MAJOR changes in the design and content of the BBC Online websitehave been sanctioned by Chris Smith, the Secretary of State forCulture, Media and Sport.
The sweeping changes will be unveiled early next year, making itofficially the third major medium for the BBC, after TV and radio.
Head of BBC Online, Mark Frost said a public consultation projectconducted in recent months had prompted widespread and sweepingchanges to the way the site is organised.The consultation received a 95 per cent endorsement for BBCOnline, effectively giving the go-ahead for the broadcastingcorporation to give the Internet equal footing alongside TV andradio.
